today started out with a two hour delay ...
now i have to admit i love it ...

it's like sleeping in with pay
... and a short day, because the day goes so fast

i love my job ...but a person would be crazy not to like the snow day schedule.

so you would think when i got home i would be full of energy...
but i'm not
..i am just plain lazy..
 i am all curled up with my little netbook...
 my sweet little dog...
and a cup of hot apple cider

christmas/ snow/ family time!

ok.. time to post some of the fun happenings!

christmas eve...
christmas eve night is always at my side of the family so we went to my sisters...
had a great meal and then played ... Pictonaryman.. fun..fun..fun


christmas day...
we always get up early ...read the christmas story ...have gift time with each other and then to nana's for lunch.
...the best thing of the morning was dales surprise gift...

now before i go any further just let me tell you that i  forgot my camera each time we went somewhere..and i didnt get good pictures at home either..   Duh!

but i did get this one...i think it says it all!   he was one happy man!

and of course the snow

we love the snow, and were excited to see a "white christmas"

she is always styling ...even in the snow

this was also a first for karlie ...

me..matthew...and jordyn..working hard

we didn't get our snowman built.(we were too tired after all this shoveling)
...but the driveway is clear
so then it was time to eat.. watch movies.. and play games  :D

week of family fun

this has been a special week for our family...

wednesday...
 Matthew came in from Nashville... man!... it is so good to see him.
we always look forward to him coming home!

Jordyn drove in from Georgia...  we love as well.. and it is always good to see him too!

our family loves to play games, so after church they (i didn't make it) stayed up 'til early the next morning playing ROOK
.. i was awaken by screams at midnight as they played
...it was cool

we enjoy our "whole" family being together.
it isn't always possible that we are here at the same time, so we are EXCITED.

then our little Karlie celebrated her first birthday
to say that we love her is an understatement.... she loves being loved on!
for her birthday she got a new outfit, a new bag of treats, as well as an editable birthday card.. from us ...plus gifts from others...
can you say spoiled?

thursday...
Jordyn grilled us fillets........ YUm..Yummm.. they were sooooooo good!
and again we ..(yes i did too) ...stayed up until midnight playing Rook.

and then today we start going to Christmas gatherings...
i love all this family time!

Christmas Bananagrams...

ok.. this morning we played

bananagrams using only "Christmas" words..
these were the "rules"... (there was only one.). ha!

#1.. use any word pertaining to Christmas

the one who finished first won a gift card to Bojangles (some of them love that place)...

... just let me say there was alot of thinkin'..
...and "new" Christmas words goin' on.. uhm
the winner was "very creative"
..Christmas is "fun"

i'm into "fur"

remember when i mentioned that i redecorated?  well i am still working on it...

and have added some "fur'.. the black is fur, the off white is fur, the large "brownish" round pillow is fur, and the square pillow is fur..

i LOVE all types of 'fur'

...so much so that i added some to ktb's room too

and the verdict is....

ok.. a couple of weeks ago i posted about the trouble i have been having with my sinus.

let me first thank all of you for praying for me!

 i finally broke down and went to a ENT specialist.
after another anti-biotic..
(which almost sent me to the ER because of an allergic reaction .... scary)

... a CT Scan ( which showed that the entire sinus area was clear).
EXCEPT the nasal passages.. they were swollen, and have been; which has alot of the same symptoms as a sinus infection.

So... the sweet dr. said..
"ok.. now we know why no anti-biotic is working... seems like you have some severe allergies going on."

now we need to began some testing to see what you are allergic to.
that was done this week... which made me sick as soon as the test began.
and the verdict is...

i am allergic to:
dust
dust mites
several trees
horses
cats
and.. dogs

YES.. i said dogs..

but not this one...there is no way she could make anyone sick.. just look at her

she is just to cute.. and sweet

i do have two more sets of test to determine the severity of everything, and try to find the right medication and or shots that i will need to take.

and... since i am allergic to dust
.. i guess i need to find a housekeeper to clean my house
...don't want to be sick ya' know   :D

week of parties...

of course the Christmas season is a time that includes lots of parties...
we love getting together with our friends and having fun.

usually when we get together we eat.. and play games
...love playing games
but...
this party included    .....ummm...  "reindeer games"..
now there are several things that just threw up some RED flags for me..
#1... never played 'reindeer games' before
#2... suggested for 'couples'
#3... NO one would tell us anything about it the game
Soooooo... being the intelligent individual that i am...
i knew that my sweet husband and i would NOT be playing this game!

as you view the pictures below ... you can see the "SUCKERS" that were talked into playing the game...

but Scottie is also an intelligent individual and picked-up on the RED flags..

Mandy and David...

(so i  hope in wasn't all in vain ... hope he got to go)

 now this is how to play the game...
the male has to place a pair of ladies "pantyhose on their head"
(there is a LARGE hole cut in the "seat" of the hose in order to "fit" over the head, and the feet are cut out)
the couple then has balloons to blow-up, and put them inside the legs of the hose.
the couple that has "their antlers" built within the 4 min. time frame wins!

Christmas Party time...

 with my wonderful work family....

this year we decided to draw names and go to a local "yummy" steakhouse for good food and fellowship.

we ALL kept the name that we had a secret, which is saying alot for us.
ok... well for me because i like to try and "find out" who has my name...

i was really surprised when Ktb had my name...
and i must say i am very pleased with my gift... LOVE IT!
and i know everyone else was just as pleased with their gift...
we all had a Great time!

....exciting morning

this morning started out with a "Bang"... literally .. around 7:00am
i am sure you remember that it is 'deer season'..

anyway... Dale and Micah set out early this morning hunting, and it wasnt long until we heard the shot...and shout of excitement...
(just kidding about the shouting part.. Micah is very quiet.. but he was very excited.)


Dale has been taking him hunting often since the season opened this year, trying to help him get his first deer, and this morning was his lucky morning!
